I am sorry to hear about the passing of your father in law. I have travaled a simular journey. My 85 year old grandmother was very ill in the month befor my surgery. This remarkable women really wanted me to be healthy. She had alzhiemers, but she always remembered that I was goin to have this surgery ad would clip things out of the paper for me about it. Well the closer I got to surgery, the sicker Gramma got. I got a call the of my preop appointment that said gramma wasnt going to make it. I didnt know what to do. They live 500 miles away. I asked my mom what to do and she said to stay home and go on with my plan for surgery. I went to my preop appointment knowing that my gramma was going to die that day. She did. She is still with me and I think of her as one of my gaurdian angels. She was an awsome woman who never weighed more the 120 (soaking wet) but she clearly understood me and how obesity was robbing me of quality if life. I wish you well on this journey and I hope you have a compication free surgery and recovery.
