George Cowan, Jr.

"My first impression was that he is a champion for obese persons. I still believe he is a champion to the plight of obese people and he is very caring. His office staff could use some improvement, but I charge their sometimes curt behavior to their heads and not their hearts. I'm not sure if I could always be courteous if I were in their shoes. His office is busy and it must be taxing to have to answer relentless questions by patients in the office as well as those calling. I don't dislike anything about him. The wait to see him was long in my book, but from what I have heard about the wait for other surgeons, it's not as long as some. He does emphasize aftercare indicating that people he operates on are patients for life. There is a structured aftercare program as well as a support group. He really addressed the risks. You have to attend lecture prior to getting an appointment. He talks about every possible risk and explains the anatomy in great detail. So far I rate him A . I will update after my surgery, then I can comment of his bedside manner and surgical competency."
