Greggory Strauther

"Greggory Strauther New Doctor to the area. Did residency in St. Louis University. Seems pretty sharp but would like to get more info on him. Family Dr. Says he comes from a very prestigious Medical School and highly recommend him based on other patients surgeries he has done. (Others were general and not Bariatric) However, those at support group who have had surgery have been pleased. 4-01-020 My personal impression of Dr. Strauther, now that I am post-op is that he is a very competent surgeon, but has no post-op bariatric dietary program. His instructions for the first few weeks were that "their is no post-op bible as to what you can or can't eat."Your stomach will either tolerate it or it won't, if you don't then stop eating whatever you didn't tolerate for a little while." No make a long story short, after trying to discover what I couldn't eat. I decided to go by my wifes surgeon's "bariatric surgery bible": 2 weeks liquids, 2 weeks pureed, and now 2 weeks soft foods. Although the surgery itself went fine, even the hospital followup care lacked structure or even consistency. My recommendation to anyone using Dr. Strauther is to get your own post-op instructions & program from somebody else in a support group who have gone to another surgeon who does offer more structured post-op instructions.
