Post-op + 5.....The soreness has almost all gone by now. I'm sleeping better and able to sleep on my side and even on my tummy a little. I was able to get out and go to the pharmacy yesteray and even a visit to Wal-Mart. No great hunger pains but I am keeping on the 2 oz meals at 8A, 10A, 12N, 2P, 4P and 6P with sipping on water or fruit flavored water in between. I'm feeling better and better each day and the scales this morning said I was minus 11 pounds. Good luck to those of you who are just starting this journey.

Post-op + 3....Yesterday was OK. I did have a lot of gas pains and walked around the house a lot. I took some mylecon to help and got off the lora tab and switched to liquid tylenol. Lora tab supposedly can cause constipation. Early this morning I finally was able to expel some gas and had a bowel movement which helped with the pains and pressure greatly. Still sore but I can move around better. I took my own shower last night before bed and that really helps you feel better. I try to sip water and keep hydrated and drink my meals at 8A, 10A, 12N, 2P, 4P and 6P as directed by the instructions. So far so good. I hope these entries help someone who is going to be making the journey by giving some information about my experiences.

Post-op +2. It's two days since my surgery and I had a pretty good night last night. I'm still sore but not as and I can move around better. They key is to get up and walk every hour, and sip on liquids. I took a shower last night right before bed and that helped me to sleep good. I only woke up once at 3:30A, when I tried to turn over in my sleep. Had to take some lora tab liquid. I've been up about an hour, on the computer and walking some. I'll update again at the end of the day and let everyone know how day 2 is (or was for me).

I've crossed over to the other side now. Surgery went great about 11:30A on 3/22 and I was up walking by 7P that night. I woke up at 10:30 with tremendous gas pains in my upper chest and the only solution is to get up and walk. I walked at 1A and 4A by myself. The leak test went great and now I'm back home. I'm still sore and took some loratab liquid that the Dr has prescribed so it made me drowsy. I'm still walking, sipping and snoozing. The nurses said I did great. That's all for now as my energy is feeling zapped.
