Darren, congratulations on your journey! I don't post often myself. I am kinda shy too. I felt a kinship toward you being in Utah as I was born in Ogden. But I did want to comment on your post on the message board. I too have United Healthcare PPO. If your surgeon is not in network, they will sometimes pay for an out of network surgeon due to nonavailability. You might check it out. I luckily had both the hospital and surgeon in network but my psych eval doc was out of network and they covered it anyway due to nonavailability. I had surgery last Sept, started out at 239 (5'1") and am down 77 lbs. I only had high blood pressure as a co-morbid. That has gone away and I am feeling great. Good luck on your continued journey and keep yourself busy as the waiting can be a pain!
