Patty, I am very interested in the clothes you have listed on the clothing exchange. I am getting ready to make a career change and have NO clothes. I would be willing to pay whatever you say for postage PREPAID. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Annie Please e-mail me if I still have a chance.

Wake up-Patty wake up your surgery is over. Wake up-everything is ok. A voice from the rear says “we did not touch your gallbladder.” Another voice says “you had adhesions from your C-section and we took care of them”. Wake up-why? Gallbladder-what is wrong! Adhesions-what are those? Voice from above-Patty-we are going to move you to your bed. No tube down the throat-I can talk-good! Hubby is sitting in a chair watching-pain-I don’t have any. Is that a pain pump with “MORPHINE”. Push it and see what happens. I think I have been asleep. Cough-you must be kidding. Where is my pillow for my stomach and I might try to cough. Cough-cough Come on lets try a little harder. COUgh-COUgh. You can do better than that. COUGH-COUGH! What are those blooming things on my feet? Sounds like a respirator and look at my feet. First one moves and then another moves. Oh! That will help me from getting blood clots on my legs-OK for now. Short nap--Patty it is time to check your blood pressure--Short nap--Patty it is time to check your blood pressure--Short nap---Patty it is time to check your blood pressure. Pain pump-wonder if it still works-push button-hear beep-sleep--sleep--sleep. Patty, can you sit up on the side of the bed?--PATTY, CAN YOU SIT UP ON THE SIDE OF THE BED? Here use the bed rail to roll on your side and then use your side muscles to sit up. A voice says: “she has a catheter so be careful.” Patty, how about standing up``~~~//\\~~~are you dizzy? OK we will wait a little while-you can lay back down in bed. Are you drinking any water? Oh--you CAN’T reach it! Guess I will check to make sure the pain pump is working-push button-beep! Wosh-up goes right foot-Wosh-up goes left foot!!!! Patty, I need to take your Blood Pressure----SLLEEEPPP. Ring-ring-ring-where am I? Is that a telephone? Where is it? Oh there it is--about two feet away from the bed on the table-guess I did not want to talk to anyone any way. I must drink water-I must drink water-sip ack-what happened to the ice. Hubby is very restless-go walk the dog and get some sleep and come back tomorrow morning. All night long the routine was drain catheter, drain wound, check IV, wosh-wosh of the feet and check blood pressure. I think I might have pushed the pain pump a couple of times but not sure. No pain--just tired of being woke up-sometimes water put where I can reach it and sometimes it ends up about two feet from the bed. Bed not comfortable-finally morning has come.

Pre-op I had lots of questions about what was going to happen to me when I went to the hospital for my surgery and after my surgery. Since this information is very fresh (tomorrow is one week out)in my mind I will share it with you. I must remind everyone that their experience will be different, physicians require different procedures but this is my story. I went to my surgeon's office one week prior to surgery for my pre-op physical. Prior to my visit I had been doing research pro/con on gallbladder removal. During my physical My surgeon explained that he routinely does not remove the gallbladder and the decision to remove it would be made when he was able to see it's condition. (stone's do not count) After checking my present health condition and present meds by both surgeon and assistant it was my time to ask questions. I must say that other than the gallbladder and if I would get a pain pump(thumbs up)my research was completed. Surgery day finally arrived on June 4, 2002. I had to be at the hospital by 6:00 AM-surgery was scheduled for 8:00 AM. The first 10 minutes were spent in a tiny waiting room with everyone looking at each other and trying to guess what kind of surgery each was having. Then hubby and I were called into the admissions where all of the pre-admitt info was checked and copies of insurance cards were made. My hubby was then directed back to the tiny waiting room and I was husseled down a long hall to a curtained room. I was given a gown to put on and told to put all my clothing in a plastic sack. T H E N I sat and sat and sat. During this time I wondered-opening of gown-front or back. It is now in the back-maybe she said front. Maybe everyone forgot me. Should I bear my behind and go back to the admissions office. Everyone is talking about what they did last night--Hay guys my surgery is scheduled for 8:00 AM and it is now 6:45. Here comes the blood sucker. Three tubes-are you sure that is enough? Now my curtain becomes a revolving door-need to do an EKG. In comes a teacher with a student nurse requesting permission to follow me for the day. Why not! She says she is not shocked by @#$% so I said OK. Time for the IV-no problem says I-whoops where did those veins go! Poke, poke, poke I finally found one. Yipee! Oh my here comes a H-U-N-K. Asking me if I would like a warm blanket. Honey that is not what I had in mind. It is kind of cold in surgery he says--I think-you could/should keep me warm. In walks the surgeon, assistant and sleep Dr. Did that burst my ballon or what? Away down the hall we went-I wished I had brought my video camera! The ride was just like on TV. My hubby gave me a quick kiss and a see you soon. Hay Dr. sleep what are you putting in my IV.
