"I have known Dr Huffman for almost 2 years now. I underwent surgery in May 2002 & was in the hospital until May 2003, yes! an entire year of my life. At the time my surgery was done I believe that the surgeon, his team, and the hospital were not prepared to deal with the multitude of complications I suffered. I became septic because of a leak, was ventilator dependent, had fistulas, a tracheostomy, a total of 8 abdominal surgeries, a deep vein thrombosis which has caused permanent neurological damage to my left arm & hand. I also had a wound the size of a basketball in my abdomen which has finally healed to about 2" x 1/2" deep; I also had pneumonia, a collapsed lung, and almost died repeatidly during the 364 days I spent in the hospital post op, etc. Renee' who his Allan Huffman's surgical nurse was often the saving Grace, my fiancee', the prayers of many AMOS members, & the Good Lord brought me out alive, but I still have a long & difficult recovery ahead. My understanding is that the surgeon and his staff have restructured their pre- & post- op care, so that should be helpful to future patients."
"It is old, and although the new lobby and the day-surgery area gie the impression of a new facility, it is far from that. The rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are not able to accomodate persons of size. I should know I spent 1 year at this facility post-op."
