They put me under on Monday and tried to do the surgery. I have an internal and external scar on my middle. It is from a feeding tube I had when I was an infant. I was a preemie, (six months). The internal scar has impacted my stomach, abdominal wall and skin. They tried to remove the scaring so they could see to do the surgery
and could not. The only other way they could do it would be to remove a large portion of my stomach outright, which would compromise my health and turn it into a whole different operartion, with much more risk. So they closed me up and sent me to recovery. I have all the pain of surgery and none of the benefits.

They think they might be able to do a lap-band in an open operation, but we have to get my ins, BCBS, to cover it. That fight will start next week when I go for my follow-up. The Dr. kept me in the hospital one night. I came home yesterday.

That's the story and the drama continues! If anyone has any information that can help me get Anthem BCBS, adminsitered by BCBS of MA, to approve a lap-ban I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
