Thank you to every one who has sent encouragement and best wishes. I wanted to tell every one how great it made me feel. You are more encouraging than my sister. although she did share her reservations with me last night. She just wants to make sure that I am safe and nothing happens to me. So I reassured her that I didn't make it this far for nothing. I am so excited that this is almost here. I go to the surgeon this tuesday, then do all the pre-op at the hospital then on Wed. the hospital provides a room (complimentary)across the street from the hospital for me and my family and then Thursday morning I go to the hospital at 7. so I wanted to let every one know that My daughter (Amy) and i are going to spent some time this week end with family out of town before my big day. To my Best Friend in the World . Sandra Thompson, I love you and Eddie for all the sweetr things you do for me. and I want you to not give uo hope We will find a way to get you to this point too.(Sandra found out that her insurance soes not cover wls at all.) Strange things do happen, I'm here now. Nancy Wilson, thanks for sharing about yoours and your husbands success, that makes this all the more real. If I don't post again before surgery I will be back and tell you how this goes I am looking forward to liquids and creamed foods (except I hate cream of wheat, I love grits but cant stand c.o.w.) oh well. now I am rambling. I'll talk to every one for the other side soon and maybe the for the first time in my life I'll be a true "loser" lol cant wait. we have a class reunion in august and I want to look much better for that. then I want to suprise ppl for other schools in the fall (oct. or nov.) when my daughter go to arkansas opens annual band compition. don't see these ppl but once a year. I wanted to feel better about my self, so yesterday I went to get my hair trimmed and the guy talked me into perming it (he knew about wls and said every thing should be of with perm.) any way I love the new look. It's realy short( it was before) but any way its has lift and just brightens my whole look. Ppl have commented lately that I must be feeling better now & I just smile and say Yea, life is great! only a few ppl know about wls. & i want to keep it that way for now, I love to shock people. well this is getting really long but thanks again you guys are GREAT!!!!!!!!!! love you all

I hope and pray that your surgery is free of any complications and that you have a quick recovery. I will be joining you on the losing side on June 11th so I know how excited you are! I'm sure you'll do great!!!

Retia, congratulations on your upcoming surgery. May peace and love surround you on your journey and carry you along safely. Remember to drink your water, take your vitamins, walk daily and most importantly, be gentle with yourself along the way. Lastly, don't forget to stop by occasionally and update your profile. Well, I have spent hours reading comments from others wanting to have this surgery or who have had it already. I really enjoyed all of then. I can not believe that next week is the big date. I cant believe this is really happening for me. I called a friend that I've known for a few years thru my kids school & told her what was going own to find out that she had it done 14 years ago OMG what a shock (BTW she looks great!) I have been on an emotional roller coaster, I'm happy and excited and at the same time scared. I'm so happy that I'm almost in teat at times for no real reason nrves I suppose. all of the profile are so encourageing. take care all. good luck with your up coming surgery dates.
