Well Frist let me say thank you so very much to everyone for your well wishes and prays while I was in the Hospital.. THANK YOU! I am home now.. I am feeling much better now.. I go back to the doctor tomorrow for my first visit and I hope to ge tout dome of the many staples I Have in the 7" long cut he made... I guess it like Dr.Felix told my husbad he was more worried about saving my life then worring about where I could ware a bathing suit and we both had to agree. So any way I just wanted to let everyone know I was home and doing better now... Thanks again to everyone. Elaina

Here's the latest on Elaina!!! I have good news! I spoke with Elaina this evening ... she sounds so much better than she did two nights ago. She is now out of the ICU and doing laps around the nurses' station! Way to go, Elaina! Adios to the catheter, however she still has a drainage tube which will remain for a few weeks. Today she had clear liquids ... which went down without a hitch! She's hoping she will be released on Friday. Elaina wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and said she will be back online SOON! Jennifer

I stopped by the hospital this evening to visit Elaina. She's still in the ICU ... but only because they can't find a room for her in the hospital! She looked pretty good considering her ordeal! Anyway ... here's the scoop on what happened. After her initial Lap RNY her intestines leading from her "old" stomach swelled and developed a "kink." This caused her "old" stomach to fill up with acids, bile, etc. Yuk! The CT scan discovered this and it was determined that she needed surgery to repair things. Dr. Felix flew back into Fresno 12 hours earlier than he had planned to do her surgery (kudos to Dr. Felix)! Anyway, he had to do an open procedure to fix the intestines (he actually removed the weak, kinked part of the intestine). She has been up once since surgery ... and I'm sure she will be up and about once they move her out of the ICU. I know she would appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers! Jennifer

Glad I already had my angel wings on ... because I received information on Elaina. Elaina had surgery on February 21 (Lap RNY). She came home on Friday ... but by Saturday was vomiting. From what her husband said, a CT scan showed a small blockage. Needless to say, the doctor checked her in to the hospital. She had surgery this morning to repair the problem and is currently in ICU (precautionary). They had to do the second surgery via an "open" incision so she is in some pain. I will try to drop in on Elaina tomorrow so that I can give everyone a progress report. Please keep Elaina and her husband (Charlie) in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks! Jennifer
