*ANGEL UPDATE*
Cindy for Kathi DeSelms:
Kathy had RNY, yesterday at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN. She went into surgery at aprox 10:30 and was out by 12:00. The Dr. came to see us and said everything went very well. They did go ahead and take her Appendix, but everything else inside looked good ( no gall bladder problems, cancer, etc.). We are so thankful!
Kathi remained in recovery about 2 hours, due to extreme nausea. When we were allowed to see her in her room, she was still suffering from some nausea, severe cramping, and very worn out, but her color was great!
It is amazing they have allready had her up and walking twice.
She had a pretty uncomfortable night, last nite.
But the Dr. says she is on the right track, needs some encouragement walking....no doubt! She is still very tired and sleepy, (all the better for healing). The nurses tell me she is doing great tho, and as always has a great outlook. She wants to make sure and do everything right.
One of her nurses had this same surgery 9 years ago, I find that helpful and comforting, as she understands much of the pain, and emotions that go with this.
Kathi's sons, Michael and Ryan, and I would like to send you our heartfelt thanks, for the information, prayers, and encouragement everyone on this site has given to Kathi. Thank You.
On the way to the hospital yesterday the weather was beautiful. Kathi had said "the butterflies will be coming out today". Kathi is now on the "other side" and the butterfly will be coming out!
Bless you, our prayers are with each of you.
