Itching is good it means it is healing. I wouldnt recommend putting a cream over the incision site without consulting the physician. Do keep an eye on the redness. If the incision starts to feel warm to touch, notify your dr. Best of luck, Tamara

I have lymph edema in my legs which make me at risk for blood clots according to my surgeon. A week prior to my surgery he is going to insert a device in my groin area where my veins come together, it opens up on the inside and looks like an umbrella and cathes bloodclots.Its good for the rest of my life.This may be more than you want to do, but it is an option.
