"I had my consultation appointment Dec. 4th.
Met with Dr. Cook and everything went really well. Ms. Vale, the nutritionalist, and Dr. Cook talked with 4 candidates for the surgery and answers all the questions we might have. We were shown how the procedure is done and the equipment used. We were given the dates for support programs and where they meet. I think the whole staff and Dr. Cook seem very interested in each patient and show compassion and understanding for our situations, but they also explain the risk and the life time changes that must be accepted in order to have this surgery. It is not a fix but a tool to cure my obesity. They moved my physical to December 16th and everything went fine, they are now going to proceed by filing my insurance. The insurance info was forwarded 12/31/02. Dr. Cook is very kind and understanding, very soft spoken and he emphasize aftercare support, understanding of the procedure and risk, making sure he has a list of all medications you currently take so he can update you after surgery about changes in certain medications. He definitly wants your primary doctor to be up todate and current on your plans. Dr. Cook's competence and manner were both outstanding along with all the staff."
