Hi Marilyn About a week after my vertical banded gastroplasty or maybe two weeks, I was traveling with my mother. I was hungry and all she had was an orange. I thought no problem.. I will just sink my teeth into it and suck the juice out of it... well I was chewing away... and just swallowed!!!!! OOOPS.... That only happened once!!!!! I could not eat for three days... vomitted everything..... had to go to the doc for IV fluids as I was now dehydrated. I already know that I can no have citrus fruit again after my open rny (per my doctor) and I will not put one to my lips again!! Thanks for your story!!

Happy Weekend everybody! I am 10 days post op from my revision to transected pouch and I feel wonderful! I went out today with my grandson, Christopher and DH for about 3 hrs. We went to see the movie KPAX with Kevin Spacey. By the way, what do you guys think of the new movie coming out with Gwenyth Paltrow as a 300 lb woman? Hmmmmmm. Don't know if I want to see it or not if it makes fun of us! It was a very tiring day but I am so happy! I am losing like crazy. I gained 16 lbs in the hospital from fluids and I have now lost 23 lbs. This is after my initial 68 lbs loss. I am on my way to goal now! It is easier this time believe me. I have more energy and my incision is healing well. I had glue and internal sutures instead of staples. So much easier on me. My incision is a biggy....14 inches in length but I can hardly feel any pain. Mostly at night, I have these spasms in my sides. Anyone else experience that? God bless you all. I am praying for all of you. Yours in Faimont,WV Marilyn Childers
