"I investigated the idea of WLS for a year and a half before finally deciding to go through with it. I spoke to 3 DR.s offices in the area and in one case, the staff was beligerant and short with me when I asked for information. That elimiated one then I found out that Dr. Samuels had the most experience with WLS by several years. I looked at the possiblilty of having the laparoscopic RNY as well. When I went to the office for Dr. Samuels, I was thoroughly impressed with the program they presented. Not just the video which was very discriptive about the surgery itself but the chance to speak to the doctor in person. There were three prospective patients in a small group and he spent nearly an hour answering questions. The support system he has in effect, a dietician, a psychologist and Physicians assistant made me well informed of the process that was to take place as well as a way to avoid pitfalls that others have had. I have noticed that his "tough" attitude towards the need to get up and move is what made all the difference for my speedy recovery."
