David Provost

"My first impression of Dr. Provost was he was kind of distant but very professional, he answered my questions, which were more on what his personal opinion of how his patients fared after surgery and what their success rate was. I had already done so much research on the subject about the surgery and what it was, and what the risks were, during and after, so I really had no questions there. He was very willing to answer everything I asked...and I felt like he was being totally honest with me. When you go for your initial consultation you meet with him first, then the nutritionist, the guy who gets you approved with your insurance, then the nurse. It all was wonderfully informative, and made me feel as though I new what to expect after surgery, at least to the extent that you can before actually experiencing it. There is an information meeting you can go to but I went to one here in Tyler and it was very good. He is very very emphatic about after care..he says the most successful patients are the ones who do followup aftercare like they are supposed to. Overall I would say that both he and his staff did an excellent job and on a scale of 1 - 10 I would rate the visit a 10. I think that surgical competence is number one on my priority list, with bedside manner taking a second to it. I feel like I have both."

"I loved the staff...they were very helpful and very understanding. My only problem was the accomodations for guests...which I think is very important. There was a recliner in the room, but it had a terrible odor in it. So my poor mom had to sleep on this nasty recliner for five days."
