"Well I went to the hospital on our post and got a referral letter for me to go and see my doctor. Well I tried for over a month to get into see him a then I called Tricare and got a new referral to see a different doctor. I finally ended up with Dr. Tayiem. And if you can believe this the secretary could of gotten me into see him the following Monday ( I called on a Friday). Well I went in to see him on that Tuesday. He was very informative about the surgery and what he expected from me as a patient. I had to write a letter to my insurance company and fax it to his office explaining on why I would like to have the surgery. I took a lil time to think about which surgery I would like to have and I opted for the open RNY gastric bypass. I was on leave with my family back in Michigan and the doctor's office called me in Michigan to let me know that I was approved for the surgery.
Something that I would like to stress in this surgery is that it really helps if you have a good support system, my husband and father helped me out tremendoulsy after the sugery.
The office staff at Dr. Tayiem's office was great. I always got called back in a timely manner. When I was in the hospital I had to mention to my doctor that my meals where not very great I in fact had a italian ice cream on my tray and I think that was not good for someone who just had a gastric bypass, my doctor informed me that he was going to get with the nutrionist. I think Dr. Tayiems office was good in all aspects of my surgery and when I was not happy with anything I let him know I was not happy. "
