I have been obese most of my life. I can remember having surgery when I was 7 and while in the hospital I was put on a diet. I weighed 165 lbs when I was in the 6th grade. I was over 200 lbs most of my high school years, and over 300 since. I have always felt healthy. I rarely had to see a doctor. I could walk up and down a mall without needing to rest. But that was then, now I feel as though my health is declining rapidly. I the past two years I have been diagnosed with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Acid Reflux, I have constant fatique, joint pain (knees and ankles), etc....
I initially was looking to have Lap Band surgery, but now that I have learned so much, I think the gastric bypass will be the best choice for me.
I have gone to the Weight Management Center, and completed alot of the process for surgery approval. I meet with an internist on Nov. 14th for a general physical and to go over results from all of the tests done. I will find out then if I am "qualified" for surgery. My insurance letter will also be submitted after that. So, I will post again Nov. 14th,
