It has been a whole year since my wls. I have lost a total of 141#!!! I feel wonderful! I was thinking the other day about the progress that I have made. The most painful things about being obese was the emotional turmoil that it caused me. I can vividly remember the shame, rejection, lonlieness, guilt, depression and prejudice not to mention my poor health. Through this surgery I was given back my life! There is hope! On Feb 15, 2002, I was reborn!!!!! This is by far the most important decision I have made in my life. I will never regret it. I now have self-esteem , confidence, self assurance and poise. And I am healthier than i have been in years. I feel like someone took the chains off and set me free. I feel alive again! I have my whole life ahead of me and I cannot wait to see what is in store for me. (BMI went from 63 to 40 and my blood pressure is normal again!)

I am doing well and want to praise Dr. LaBrie, Susan Budd,Patti Zook and the entire staff. I have never been treated so well in a hospital. All in all this experience has been well worth it and I would do it all again. I am 7 weeks post op and have lost 40 pounds.
