Hello all!! It is Thursday and I am at home recuperating. The surgery went well, no complications during or after. I spent the night in ICU due to sleep apnea, had some pain but it was manageable, spent Tues. in a regular room and got to come home yesterday morning.Thank you soooo much for your prayers and encouragement! I had 2 friends from OH visit me on Tues. - thanks Bevly and Krista, my 'role model' who had surgery a week before I did!! We've been comparing notes all along the way! So much support from friends, family, and Dr. Elliott's support group - let me tell you, that is key! Don't try to do it alone! The best thing is, you don't have to!!!
Have had very little pain yesterday & today - just sore & tender, walking like i'm 90 yrs old! Trying to walk 10 minutes 4x a day like the Dr. ordered - just around the house at first ("doin laps!") then around the block. The biggest thing is trying to get down all the water they want you to!!! I'm workin up to the required 64 ounces, but my tiny tummy doesn't like it! (wooo hooo, that's the first time I've referred to part of myself as tiny!!! lol) I've been "eating" - if you can call it eating! - sf jello and broth, had my first Dreyers whole fruit sf popsicle yesterday, that was yummy!
Anyway, just takin it easy, hubby has been soooo supportive, stayed home to be my nurse the last 2 days... make that nurse/boot camp sergeant!! lol I'll update more later, just wanted to let you all know I'm alive & doing great! Thanks again!!
