Hi Susan... Geesh, congratulations not only on your one on one with the Dr tomorrow but, also for the patience on waiting for it to finally get here! That really is along time to have to wait. I had mine only 2 weeks after his orientation with a group of us. I just received my date for surgery today. Dec 9th. It will give me enough time to get everything organized and get mentally ready. I can't believe your family and friends are so negative. It seemed as though they weren't even worried about the risks but, more just plain jealous of how great you will look. Friends show their true colors when things like this happen.. but, your sister.. do me a favor, get a rolled up newspaper and bop her on the head and tell her to snap out of it!! hehe..just kidding. But, I hope that they all come around and give you the support you deserve. And if not, always know there are people here that support you. Oh, by the way, give your hubby a hug.. he deserves one! Good luck and I hope you get your date before the end of the year!

Susan, I am a therapist and I too, felt bad about "having" to get WLS...BUT I NEED TO! I feel that I need an intervention to help me get my health back. This is an attempt to save my life..NOT an option. Just let the guilt go. Let the feelings of strength take over. No one volunteers for surgery we do it to save our lives. I hope this helps. oxoxox
