WEll, I went to the power point presentation, and if I can get insurance approval, then I want to have the surgery. My DH went with me to the presentation so that we could be together in the decision. The only thing that concerns me is that because i have an umbilical hernia and have had adhesions from other surgeries, there is a very good chance that I will have to be opened up. The good part of that is that in spite of the healing taking longer, the Dr. said it is faster so I won't have to be "under" longer. So the question is how fast can I get in to see him and get my insurance approved. More later!

I am going to a Power Point presentation of the bypass surgery on April 10. The Montclair Surgical group at Baptist Montclair is putting it on, and Scott Pennington will do the follow up to see if I qualify. My BMI is only around 38 but I have wicked sleep apnea, stress incontinence, and am starting to have arthritis in my legs. I hope the insurance approves me. I finally gave up the total lo-carb dieting.....I couldn't cut my carbs lo enough to get into ketosis good, and it was making me feel wicked!
