"I was pleased with my first impression of DR.Horrilleno on May 12, 2001. I like that he says he would be my doctor for the rest of my life. He did not have an established aftercare program in place at that time but he has since gotten a support group that will begin meeting in August. He said he wanted to concentrate on what he does best, the surgery, and let others run the support group. That is okay with me. We all have certain areas of expertise. His office staff have all been extremely kind and helpful.
I submitted my packet from seminar along with lab, ultrasound, and other medical records the end of June. Apparently Dr. H reviewed the information and dictated a letter to the insurance. Unfortunately, I was told by Debra that insurance did not approve my request. I knew CCN does approve surgery if medically necessary. I asked her to call back and ask for a nurse reviewer. When she called back the next day, I was approved. What Debra lacked in experience that day, she makes up for with the sharing of her own personal experince with the surgery and her enthusiastic support of Dr. Horrilleno. My approval came on Friday the 13th, my good luck day.
Everything needed for surgery has been done. I have completed my psych evaluation, treadmill stress test for cardiac approval, ultrasound of my gallbladder, lab test, colonoscopy...I'm ready to go. So, my only disappointment is having to wait almost a month for my face to face appointment."
