"my first impression of dr bauman was that he was very knowledgable in his profession and also cared about what was the best option for the patient. his office staff was very professional and polite and offered to help me in any way possible, before and after surgery. dr bauman is very adamant that a patient be totally committed to a life-style change after surgery. if you think this is a one-time thing and you don't have to watch you diet and do exercise, then you need not even apply. dr bauman requires that a post-op patient see a nutritionist every month for 1 year to make sure they are getting enough nutrients and are eating the right foods. this program is mandatory. before the actual consultation you have to watch a video about all types of gastric bypasses and then dr bauman discusses the type of bypass he performs and the risks of it. he really wants you to understand that this is major surgery and with major surgery comes big risks. he really likes for the patient to have done some research on the bypass on their own so that they realize that it is indeed a life-style change. mr bauman's office is very busy. it took me almost 3 months to get a consultation with him and the consultation lasted close to 3 hours. my first experience with dr bauman and his staff was a very good one."
