Jacobo Joffe

"So far , so good. A bit quick through the first and only pre-op appointment, but that may have been because I was so well prep-ed by this site...I elimitated options immediately. Assistant is abrupt at first (probably due to the telephone ringing off the wall) but has warmed up and is terrific..she even remembers my name, and procedure! Jan 24....got to the other side quickly. LAP Band, so I had surgery Monday at 8 am and left hospital at 2pm the next day. Joffe saw be both days and I see him for followup again on Friday. Grace Hospital is ok...but the nursing staff varies from shift to shift...very nice and competent to completely incompetent and rude and fails to even finish something they start. I will mention this to Joffe. I am more impressed with Joffe since the surgery, having spent more time speaking with him and getting a better look at his philosophy toward this type of operation. March 3. had my first fill, and Joffe openly indicated that he sometimes misses. I recommend getting an early appointment so he is not frazzeled and tired - he is better when calm. My port is up front and below my ribs.....which i think is an easy placement. TAlk pre op about port placement. if you want it tucked on your side under your ribs, be prepared for tricky fills...threading a needle via x-ray is hard enough.Even I can feel the opening where the needle goes....coolest feeling is when it pops coming out!"
