I went to my first Post-Op appointment yesterday, and the surgeon said I am doing "gReAt"...... I've lost 20 pounds in 19 days and am feeling fantastic. I have no "buyers remorse" and am SOOOOoooooo happy that I made the decision to have WLS. Also, I can start introducing FOOD.... including: eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, cottage cheese, cream of wheat!!!!!

It's been awhile since I updated my blog. Well since my last blog, I was denied TWICE by my medical group (GEM CARE) and told that I needed 6 months medically supervised weight loss attempts. I provided medical records of a weight loss clinic I went to for over 8 months, and was still denied, stating it wasn't current to date. I was told that I had exhausted all my appeals through them and that my last was resort was to appeal directly with Blue Shield.
I called Blue Shield on the 4th of January, after losing all hope and decided "WTH why not get one more denial". Little did I know, on January 29th, I received my letter of APPROVAL!!!!!!! I now have a surgery date of May 18th, 2011. It's rather far away as I was hoping to have an early date, so my next mission (as advised by the surgical group) is to call weekly and check for cancellations. Keeping my fingers crossed, but if it doesn't work May is only 3 months away, which gives me more time to educate myself!

Went to my appt. with the Psych., Surgeon, and Internal Med. Dr. on November 2nd. and hoping to get a response from my insurance (Blue Sheild- HMO). They say patience is a virtue, but I can't wait- sigh!
