I am in the process of doing what is required by my insurance company in order to get the gastric bypass surgery. I am getting excited, but I'm also nervous.
Please let me know what it was like for some of you after the surgery-was it painful or was your experience after surgery not painful? Were you able to get up that same night and walk? How many days is the normal stay in the hospital after surgery? How many weeks can I expect to be off work if I work in an assembly plant? (physical job) What would you recommend to someone after having surgery to be sure and follow? What type of complications could I possibly expect? Did you have to give yourself shots so that blood clots didn't develop?
I have lots of questions and no one to ask. My primary care doctor had a couple of her patients call me and that was helpful, but I would like to hear from more people who have had the surgery.
What do most people eat a couple of months after surgery? What would a meal consist of?
