Okay - so 3 years out from my VSG, i am holding steady at 160 (down from 253, I lost a total of 93 pounds).  Still not my goal weight (140), but when I do lose more, I can't seem to maintain it.  So I guess this is me. 160.  I'm happy with that.

I'm surprised how easily I can keep my weight steady.  I have actually been able to go down as low as 145, but I can't stay there. It doesn't work for me.  I am able to eat pretty normally now, but with healthy choices.  If I go up a few pounds, I know how to bring it back down - eat healthy, no liquid calories, etc, stay busy, stay active.  I don't have time in my life to exercise regularly, so I try to throw activity in wherever I can.

Now that I am 3 years out from the surgery, I am contemplating cosmetic surgery to remove excess skin that's not going away.  Mostly around my belly, arms and upper thighs.  The most recent number was $30,000 to do everything I want.  I'm playing the lottery weekly. :)  But seriously, I might take it in stages.  My biggest problem is my arms.  They estimated around $6,00 for that.  Then perhaps I would look into the circumferential body lift and breast lift.  That's a biggie.  I might have to sell a kidney!!  I have found a great surgeon, so now I just have to decide if this is really that important to me.  Right now, It's 50/50.

Here was my first profile post:

Well, I'm a mother of 4. I work part time as a Graphic Designer and IT Support. I have a very busy life, and finally found some me-time to have a VSG and take care of my health for once. Hopefully my exercise routine will take priority once I am all healed up.  Had a VSG on June 21, 2009.  My start weight was 253. My goal is around 140, but I'm flexible. I've struggled with my weight most of my life. Pretty simple story, really.  I'm excited about this new phase of my life.
