Well my story is pretty simple. I have been over-weight for a good portion of my life. I have had some times in my life where i was very physically fit. I sustained a near fatal head injury in 1999 so i was in the process of rejoining the Army and was in really good shape to do so. I spent nearly 3 months in the hospital and got down to about 190 lbs. But due to the lack of activity after the accident i slowly put on about 100 lbs. through the coarse of my treatment in the hospital that i had become a full on diabetic. so I then started to take insulin as well as some anti-deppresants which inturn did nothing to help my weight. I remarried in 2001 to my wife jennifer who also has had weight-loss surgery along with me on the same day. She has had problems with weight all of her life. We had researched Weight loss surgery for a couple of years but had no luck finding an insurance that would cover it through her job. Jenn did finally go to work for a prison medical group that covered the surgery so we promptly went to the orientation and started the process. We had to weight nearly a year for jenn to have enough vacation to be able to recover from surgery. due to my head injury my only soarce of income is through disability from social security. So in July of 2006 we both had the surgery and have never regretted it for a minute. Jenn suffers from chronic fatige syndrom with has really made it rough on her as far as extra exercise is concerned. She is doing remarkable and has lost 100+ lbs. I am comming up on the 80 lb markwith about 40 to go. I am doing well as far as the energy and ability to get moving i work out at least 2-3 days a week and i swim at least 2 days a week. I am working with weight as well as going anywhere from 1-2 hours on the tread mill at a pretty good clip about a 18 minute mile. I know with my injury i wont have the coordination to run or jog but i am going fast enough that i am losing and not becoming to wore out in the process
