hello to all...my name is lynda and i am in the process of setting up for bypass surgery...have most all requirements met all left for me is cardiac and pulmonary clearances which i have appointments for on sept 1 and sept 12...i have been heavy most all my life have tried dieting myself numerous times lost large amounts of weight but wasnt able to maintain it and gained it back and then some..my heaviest was 382 but ive manage to bring that down to 355 since this past march...so thats alittle help..im looking forward to the surgery but would be lieing if i said i wasnt scared...but i know in myheart it is for the best...i have had high blood pressure for about 7 years but its under control and recently in past 2 months have the onset of diabetes which is what totally brought me to having the surgery...i am not ready to leave this world yet have too much i want to do yet and see...the weight is a major hindurance in all aspects of life..i have deteriorated vertebres in lower back due to work injury and i know the weight is making it worse..i cant walk long distances nor stand long periods of time as the pain is too intense..i am at the point i dont even want to leave the apt anymore because its just too much to deal with.. i was told my insurance was one of the easoer ones to deal with ( i have medicare as im on disabilty for my back ) and i wasnt expecting things to move as fast as they have been wasnt looing to have surgery till after the first of the yearas my sister had the surgery 3 years ago and it took her almost a year before it happened...so im still dazed with the movement and happy too..just want it done and over and start living my life again...
i have been browsing through the sight the past few days since being made aware of it and am very impressed with it..everyone seems to be a very supportive group of people and you can see the love and caring with every post...just from what ive been reading so far has given me great insite into what to expect in the coming months especially right after surgery...even though my sister had the surgery i didnt judge but her reaction to post op as she isnt not a good pain tolerance person and though i know its bad it was easier to see what to expect from reading here...
it makes me so happy to see all the success stories here and the happiness you people show from it...i lok forward to being part of this group and hope to become more aqainted with everyone more as the time goes on...good luck to everyone and hugs to all
