Gained a lot of weight back - Lessons Learned

Sep 28, 2014

I had my surgery a few years ago. I was wearing a 14 Petite after initial weight loss, now I wear 20 Petite.

Basic lessons learned:

  1. You must start an active exercise program and do it for life, I sit at my job and never followed through with doing "something" on a daily basis.
  2. Drink 6 glasses or more water per day, I gained 32# within a short period of time when I stopped drinking as much water
  3. Communicate with your weight loss team:  My Dr/nurse dropped communications with me like a hot potato when I started regaining weight.  I should have nagged them for continued support.

Gaining weight

Nov 15, 2009

I am eating way too much high fat/sugar foods (grazing).
No exercise
Gained 30+ lbs when I quit drinking my 60 oz of water a day  (a key habit that must be maintained)

I weigh 214 this week. I am 5'2".  I am squeezing into a 16WP.  I was wearing 14-16P a couple years ago.

I am thinking of going to a hypnotherapist to help me get back on drinking more water and quit GRAZING.

Wish I could say my surgery was a 100% success.  I got down to 172# and felt great, but that was as low as my weight got.

I sabotaged myself.

I thank WLS for inviting me back here (my 5th anniversary).

2 years??!!

Nov 17, 2006

I was unable to log in for some reason...anyway, I weight 181# today.  I weighed 276# a couple years ago.  Hard to drop weight anymore and I eat more than I should, minimal exercise.  Feel good though and weara a size 16Petite.

I should put on a new picture where I don't look like a pocket gopher.  :-)
