Welcome to the AMOS board. I wish you all the best in your persuit for this life saving surgery. My husband and I both have had open rny's. We also have Kaiser. My advice to you with Kaiser is to keep track of everything. They seem to be very slow about anything they do. It took us 1 1/2 yrs to get our approval but the wait was worth it. I have lost 110 lbs since my surgery in June 2001 and he has lost 215 lbs since his surgery in Oct 2001. Life is very different now for us. We are also grandparents and our energy levels have greatly improved and we can keep up with all four grandkids now. Hi Diane, I hope your wait for surgery goes by really fast. And 51 is not old at all, even with grandchildren (you were just a baby yourself when you had children). I am very sorry for your loss but I'm glad to hear that you are trying to make the rest of your life as healthy as possible. Those were my reasons too. Good luck to you.
