I'm over 7 years out from surgery and doing wonderful. I've been involved in so many new adventures and doing things I never dreamed of doing. Check out my profile for more on what I do and enjoy.
I had my surgery August of 2001. I had an open procedure because I had a huge cyst on my ovary and my surgeon decided to take it out. But I lost 100% of the weight I wanted and needed to lose within the first year. I had plastic surgery almost 5 years ago about 18 months after my WLS. I've had my breasts lifted and a complete lower body lift. I could not be happier with the results.
I started an LDS WLS support group this year and hopefully it will grow. I have been able to help many people and they in turn have strengthened me. Life gets hard and challenging, but I have much better skills and tools to help me do better.
So, though I've never put words of wisdom or snipits from my journey, you can at least know that I don't regret WLS in any way. It was the best decisions I've ever made in my life...next to marrying my man.
