This book was featured on Oprah the other day, so I decided to check it out. Turns out that it really opened my eyes about my relationship with food. Has anyone had a chance to check it out? If so, what are your thoughts?

I have decided to put wls on hold for now. I am going to try to do it on my own and if I'm not successful I will have wls at a later date. I will continue to do the six months diet because it has helped me to make a lot of needed changes. I am in the process of changing careers and  I have a few other situations that need to be resolved before I can say that I am ready. I plan on joining Curves to go along with the new things that I have learned about food and see what happens. Wish me luck.

I found out today that one of my co-workers had the lap band done and didn't have to do the six month diet. We have the same insurance so I don't understand why I have to and she doesn't. I only have 2 more days on my current insurance and I am going to see if they will try to send everything through before it ends. This is sooo unfair. I have been doing this diet thing since December. You mean to tell me I could have had this done already. I don't understand this at all. I called the center that she went through to see if they can help me. She took all my info and will give me a call tomorrow to let me know. I pray that it works out on my behalf.  I'm starting to really dislike insurance companies.

I am currently on a six month diet plan through UHC where I have phone appointments with a wellness coach. The thing is, my insurance will be BCBSAL next month and I don't know if they will except this type of supervised diet. I tried calling them and they don't seem to know. Even though I have been doing this for three months already. I think it would be best to start a new plan with my primary doctor just to make sure. I don't want to reach the end of the program and they tell me that this is not acceptable. I wouldn't be able to hadle starting completely over.

I now have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama. I'm sad because I thought I was going to be able to get the sleeve but they only cover the Lap Band and Gastric bypass.  I don't think the lap band is for me at all and then I'm afraid to do the gastric bypass. Well, one of my family members had the gastric bypass and didn't have any trouble. I need to  re-think this thing and do a lot more research. In a way the new insurance is better because they pay up to 10k for a tummy tuck after you lose all the weight. What I don't like is that I have to pay a lot more out of pocket for the surgery vs the 100.00 I would have to pay with the old insurance. You can't have it all I guess. I'm just relieved that they even cover any of the surgeries. At least I still have a choice.

Ok!!  I think that it would be best if I just keep this surgery to myself at work from now on. Have you ever had that feeling when someone says something out of line and you just feel like slapping them in the mouth. Don't judge me. If it was easy, no one would be overweight, and if you have never had a bmi as high as mine then don't give me advise because you have never walked one day in my shoes.

I'm worried about this. Has anyone had this happen to them. I have United Healthcare Choice Plus rite now. Does anyone know if Blue Cross will cover the sleeve? Please help!!!

So many of my questions have already been answered.

I'm on my third month of this six month supervised diet. I really don't know what the insurance company is looking for. I read on someone else's post that if you gain anything during this time that you will be denied. I did gain 2 or 3 pounds and then it dissapeared again. I hope they don't deny me because of that. I need this surgery. I am 5 10" 266 pounds with high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I gained all the weight after having three children and have tried almost everything to get the weight off.
