I got breast cancer in 2000, it returned in 2006. I had both breast removed but held off on breast reconstruction because I knew I wanted to have gastric bypass surgery. In Oct 2007 I had an RNY, the day of my surgery I was 197 lbs. Yes that is right, i had lost 25 lbs before surgery wating for ins to approve it. I am 8lbs from my goal weight and in June I had my breast reconstruction done. They used my extra skin and left over fat from my belly to make them so I got a free tummy tuck.
