Lewis Diulus III Plastic Surgeon M.D.

Lewis A Diulus III, M.D. has always had a passion for art and has won multiple awards for his artwork. It was this love that encouraged Dr. Diulus to pursue a career in plastic surgery where he could combine his artistic skills with the art of medicine. Dr. Diulus is a native of Cleveland, OH, and graduated from Boston University Medical School in 2002. Prior to that, he graduated with honors from Boston University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. In 1998, he was accepted in the Navy’s Health Profession Scholarship Program, receiving a direct commission as an Ensign. After graduation from medical school, he was promoted to Lieutenant on the USS Constitution. Dr. Diulus went on to complete a General Surgery residency at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic.  In July 2007, Dr. Diulus reported to USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN-72) as the Ship’s Surgeon. During his tour of duty on the Lincoln, he completed a deployment supporting both Operation Iraq Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. During this time he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander. In 2010 Dr. Diulus deployed to Haiti for Operation Unified Response where he was in charge of an after care center for the injured Haitian earthquake patients. As a result of his commitment to the care of all individuals in wartimes and crisis, he was designated as a Surface Warfare Medical Officer and awarded a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. After his Navy service, Dr. Diulus returned to training, completing his Plastic Surgery Residency at SUMMA Health System, an ACGME accredited program. During his residency Dr. Diulus presented his research at multiple plastic surgery meetings, and had the honor of winning the Walter A Keitzer, M.D. Award for best poster.    Dr. Diulus has built his medical practice combining his passion for art, the surgical and compassion skills he learned during his military deployments and his exceptional training as a plastic surgeon to provide patients a unique experience in their pursuit of beauty and wellness. He has a special interest in working with cancer patients providing them personalized options for breast reconstruction, facial, and nasal reconstruction. He is skilled in post-weight-loss body contouring, face-lifts, and rhinoplasty. Additionally he provides a full range of non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments. Dr. Diulus is board certified in General Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and also works as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery, College of Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University.  He has been married since July 2004 to Carrie Diulus, M.D. a spine surgeon and spine wellness specialist. He and his wife have two children they are raising in Akron, OH. When not working he also loves spending time with his family, running, baking and making character cakes for his kids.
