My story is a little different from most. I had lap band surgery in August of 2006. The surgery went well and I was on my way, I thought. In December of 2006 I had my last adjustment. In November of 2007, all of a sudden I could eat anything I wanted, not a good thing. I went to see my surgeon in December and learned that my band was not working. something had happened and I would require new surgery. I was not doing well with the lapband and my surgeon and I decided that Gastric bypass would be better for me. I am now scheduled for June 24 to have my surgery. I need to have my lapband removed and convert into a gastric bypass surgery. I have kept off only 27 pounds and I am waiting to begin my new journey again!
