I had the by pass on 2/26/09. I had one day of discomfort and began taking the clear liquids well without any problems, but they must be taken in tiny sips. the lap band is a similar process a bit easier I think so don't be afraid you must trust your surgeon and you will get through this and the future is yours!!!!!!!
