ELIZABETH, DO U TAKE VIT. B-12 PILL... I DID TILL I FOUND OUT MY BODY DOESN'T ABSORBE IT AND THEN I STARTED TAKING A SHOT OF VIT. B-12 EVERY MONTH... MAKES A BIG DIFFERENTS IN MY LIFE... GOOD BLESS U AND HAPPY TRAILS TO THE LOSSING SIDE OF LIFE, HEHE... ISN'T IT A GRAND FEELING...I WILL HAVE MY FIRST DR'S... VISIT MARCH 12... GOD BLESS U... DOVIE

Hi Elizabeth i saw your posting today and had to reply. like you, i too was very very sad to hear about someone dieing. Since i have been finding out about WLS, my sister's sister-in-law had been having major problems with her weight and diabetis. first she had a operation to lose some toes, then another to have her foot cut off, then finally to have her leg amputated up to the knee. She was in a wheelchair and in November 2002 she started going blind and died just a few days before christmas. I was so pained by all of this and know she would be alive today if she had had WLS. I had WLS in August 2002 and i would gladly have swopped places with her if i could have as i do not have as many health problems as she had. You were so right to have this, you know it saved your life - and congratulations on going the century club. May God bless you on this special journey kind regards

Elizabeth, Congrats to you on making it to the century club!!! To go about a plastic surgery referral you should check the specifics of your insurance. Then ask your surgeon for a doctor referral or talk to others in your support group etc. Even though you may not be ready for plastic surgery it is fine to go ahead and see a surgeon. You will get an idea of what types of procedures you will need, how long to wait and an idea of what your insurance will pay. I have consulted several plastic docs and had one to submit to my insurance. The biggest thing I keep finding is that I will have to pay a lot out of pocket because what my insurance pays as usual and customary is not what the doc charges. Also, I will be having several procedures done and they are not things that my insurace typically approves. My road to surgery may be much longer then I really want but oh well, I would like to get it all done at one time. Best of wishes to you. KimmieTN
