I am six months out from my gastric bypass and I can't tell you enough how this surgery will change your life! Hopefully you are sleeping in your hospital room as comfortable as possible. Here's a few tips for the next two weeks: 1- sip everything slowly. I guarantee that you will find that drinking gets easier late in the first week, it will happen like magic. Don't worry about the protein so much in the first week, concentrate on staying hydrated. 2- DO not be afraid to ask questions and ask for help when you need it. NO reason to suffer alone! 3- Use the pain medications given to you. It does make things easier, especially for recuping from the open procedure. 4- Sleep sitting up if you can. Congratulations on the first day of the rest of your life!

Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench! ~ JudyAnne
