Jeannie, I'm sorry you are feeling yucky today. You are doing awesome, though, on your weight loss, you are so close to the century mark that you'll be there any day now! Keep up the good work and take care of yourself!

Final Update from Angel Tammara: Well, Jeannie is now home from the hospital (Saturday Afternoon), and doing very well. In fact, Dr. Zorn said he was pleased with how well she is doing. Having recently gone through this process with Jeannie as my angel, I was honored to have the opportunity to return the 'angel favor' to Jeannie, while being able to help her (or at least emphathize with her) through the recovery process. Jeannie came out of surgery with a lot of abdominal pain. Much more pain that I had, and I was very concerned. But having Dr. Zorn reassure her that this was normal on a large majority of patients helped to relieve my concern somewhat. I would have prefered that Jeannie have no pain, but we each handle the surgery differently. Talking to Jeannie on Wednesday was hard to bear. Talking to her on Thursday was heart-wrenching. Talking to her on Friday was a joy, and very encouraging. Talking with her on Saturday and again on Sunday lifted my spirits so much! She is coping with the continued abdominal pain (which I am sure will go away soon) with grace, and she is looking forward to re-starting her life -- especially with such an active family that relies on her so much for everything. I am so happy that we can share the joys and benefits of this surgery together. She is such a beautiful person inside and out, and I am so happy for her to have this opportunity to improve the quality of her physical life. -- All my best to you, Jeannie, as you start your 'New' life!

Angel Tammara here. It seems that Jeannie is doing much better than I did. I tried calling her from work a couple times today, but she was never in. She must have been walking, walking, walking! I finally spoke with her this evening, and BOY! does she sound 100% better today. She told me the doctor said she may even get to go home tomorrow. Wow! That is two days earlier than me. I am amazed at how good she is doing -- no hunger, but still drinking broth, juice, and eating ice. I asked her if she had any regrets at having the surgery and she said NO! While she still has pain (she had another hit of morphine tonight), she is so glad she went ahead with the surgery. I am so excited for her future. I cant wait to watch the pounds just melt away from her body. While she has always been active (almost too active! Whew! What a schedule she has) I wonder how this surgery will affect her life. Best wishes on your speedy recovery, girl!

Angel Tammara here. I just got off the phone with Jeannie, who sounded much better than yesterday. She told me she actually walked 4 times around the ward, which amazes me, since I could barely walk two the second day out. I am so proud of her. She says she is in pain, but I know that Friday will be much better for her, and she is looking forward to the pain abating and focusing on walking it away. I know that in a week, she wont even remember the pain, but just revel in the fact that she is starting her new life. Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers for her. Let's continue to give her support while she makes it through these first few days. Jeannie -- I am SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!

Angel Tammara here. I am pleased to announce that Jeannie has made it with flying colors through surgery and recovery. I spoke with her minutes after she arived to her room, and while groggy and in a bit of pain, she sounded good. I just spoke with her again at 6:45pm, and was pleased to find out that she walked a whole lap around the unit/floor! Way to go Jeannie! I will update you all tomorrow, but wanted you to know how she did. On behalf of Jeannie, thank you for all your prayers and well wishes.
