~~~*~~~*~~~^j^~~~*~~~* ANGEL UPDATE!!! Sorry this is late, but I've been at the hospital with Tina since she got there yesterday. She came through surgery with flying colors! She had to be stuck TEN TIMES before they could get her IV yesterday morning before surgery. Apparently she was dehydrated and nervous and her veins just shriveled up. She went into surgery around 2 p.m. and was out at 4:30. In recovery for another 1-1/2 hours. She was back in her room at 6 last night. Foley was removed early this morning and she was taken for her leak test, which she passed and they pulled her NG tube. YEAH!! Ice chips after that and I'm sure they tasted like steak! She has done extremely well. Morphine is her best friend I'm sure. She kept saying "I can't stay awake" as she pushed the PCA pump again!! She slept most of the day, but did get up to use the restroom and sat in the chair a few times. Tonight she ventured down the hall for the first time! Tomorrow the JP drains should be pulled. Looks like she will be coming home on Friday if she keeps this up. Temps are good, but sats dropped some, so they put her back on oxygen today. That's when I convinced her to do the spirometry more to get her lungs going. I am so proud of how she is doing. She has never had surgery and she is doing so well, even though I'm sure when I say that she is rolling her eyes at me. It's painful, but once you get it down you can move better and repeat it everytime you have to get up and down. It's all uphill from here Tina and we love you and are very, very proud. YOU DID IT!!!
