Karen is recovering as well as can be expected. Due to adhesions from previous surgeries, excessive blood loss and the need to remove her appendix her surgery ran approximately six hours long. Just like myself and most other WLS patients, she is suffering through her "what did I do" phase. She is very strong and I know she will do fine.

Karen... I'm sitting here watching the clock and praying that your surgery is going well and your recovery is quick and trouble free. I wish that I was able to go with you this morning but being only 2 weeks post-op myself, I'm not strong enough to spend the whole day out yet. As excited as I am to have you on the other side with me and that we take this new phase of our lives together, I can't help but worry for you. Remember that I love you and a year from now while we are lounging in our bathing suits on the cruise we promised ourselves, this will all seem like a dream. Lots of love.... your lil' sister Diane.

Karen, I'm so excited for you! Three more days!!! How wonderful! I was almost a patient of Dr. Peters, but I wanted to see a doctor closer to home (I live in NJ) but I spoke with him twice, and thought he was great!! You'll do fabulous, and will be on your way to a healthy new life in no time!!!!! My best wishes for a peaceful next three days, and a speedy and uneventful recovery!! :o)
