Hi Julia It's Saturday, 5 days after surgery. As you may recall, I had my surgery March 8. I was scheduled for 10:15AM but when I got there, Dr. Gluck came by and said that they had moved my surgery up because the first surgery didn't happen. That kinda scared me but it was all so fast after that I didn't have time to think or be scared. If I recall correctly, Dr. Gluck came into my room the night of the surgery and told me that my surgery was the easiest he has ever done and it didn't take him as long. Or I might have dreamed that, I will as when I go for my first POST op Dr's Appt on Monday. The surgery was not what I expected with regards to pain. There was more after the surgery than I thought there would be. But each day gets easier. My first night in the hospital, I was up and walking before 7pm if I recall and they couldn't keep me down from then on. For the next two days, I would sleep an hour and be up to the bathroom and to walk. Poor Emily in the bed next to me had to endure my restlessness. But she and I got in sync and it worked out from then on. I can't say much positive for the hospital staff. I had one very good nurse I believe the 2nd day, there were so many that I can't recall what her name was. She was the only one that did not act as if we were inconveincing them when we hit the call button. Our orders were to walk walk walk! Needless to say, I was not impressed with the care I was given. And they were paid very well by my insurance I might add. My husband called the first night, I had just gotten to the door to go walk my first time, I told the nurse that if that was my husband, tell him I'm ok, I love him but can't talk right now, she would tell him nothing I found out later. Not good! Anyway, it's Saturday, day 5 after my surgery and I am tired, sore and have a strange pain in my left shoulder at times but other than that, I am doing well. I am having trouble getting the protein that I need. I have finally mixed no sugar hot chocolate, Carnation instant vanilla and a little powered milk and getting it down. I have not been nauseated at all. I take a phengran in the moring just as a precaution. All in all I am doing well. The drain tube is bothering me alot but only 1 more full day and it's out. Just the thougt of it more than anything. Thank you for your comment, I hope your doing well. Let me know! Kimberly
