Hey baby sister! Nice profile with these funky horses. They look like the wild horses of Mongolia! That's appropriate for my wild sister Jessie James! And just what do you mean, you're gonna bombard me with calls and emails? Huh? Did I do that? (Ruthanne Erkel asks. I'm so glad that you are feisty and fun and feeling so great! See ya in 2 weeks! R

Boy some people have WLS and get so darned busy with life that they forget to update us! So here's big sister updating for Jess: Jessie saw her surgeon on 10/6, just a few days short of 8 weeks since surgery. The great news? She's lost over 42 pounds! The bad news? She's been in incredible pain for almost 2 weeks. Diagnosis? Gallbladder problems and it has to come out. This is a real bummer as she was doing so well and almost all healed up from surgery. The GB surgery may need to be done open instead of LAP depending on the size of gallstones and something to do with bile ducts and liver. Jess is worried about missing more work and losing her job. She drives escort for oversized loads in FL. She loves it, gets paid pretty well, and leaves her time for riding and ranching. So this cowgirl could use some of our AMOS family support and prayers. Thank you all and God Bless. R

Yippeeeeeeee! Happy Dance Happy Dance Happy Dance! Just talked with Jess and she's feeling 100% better! She even cracked a funny joke when I asked her how many holes she has. And she passed her leak test, she's been up and walking some, and she's keeping up on her deep breathing. She's still got her IV and she thinks a drainage tube. She's not interested in broth, just ice chips and room temp water. Her biggest complaint is the fur growing on her tongue, even with rinsing. And she's still spitting up some blood clots. (All normal, according to her doctor.) Another thing learned - thrush in your mouth after this surgery is very common. Jessie said to "Thank ya'all" for your prayers and hugz. Must have helped a lot for such a great improvement in one day. *** And thanks from my heart, too, you guys. For your private emails and kind words supporting my sister and I on our journeys. Love ya all. Ruthanne
