Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)…Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly and take lots of pictures…the transformations will make your jaw drop!!! RNY 10/31/03 – down 89 pounds!!! Good luck!

Debbie, You are an amazing person. I am so inspired by your story. You are so strong. You have so much going on that could weigh you down yet you keep moving on. I can tell that you know that God is in control. Remember He doesn't give you more than you can handle, as I'm sure you already know. Keep going. Your an inspiration. I will be at support group and am looking forward to meeting you. Sorry about your mom, and congradulations on your weight loss.

THE COURAGE TO BE MYSELF I have the courage to… Embrace my strengths ~ Get excited about life ~ Enjoy giving and receiving love ~ Face and transform my fears ~ Ask for help and support when I need it ~ Spring free of Superwoman/Superman Trap ~ Trust myself ~ Make my own decisions and choices ~ Befriend myself ~ Complete unfinished business ~ Realize that I have emotional and practical rights ~ Talk as nicely to myself as I do to my plants ~ Communicate lovingly with understanding as my goal ~ Honor my own needs ~ Give myself credit for my accomplishments ~ Love the little girl/boy within me ~ Overcome my addiction to approval ~ Grant myself permission to play ~ Quit being a Responsibility Sponge ~ Feel all of my feelings and act on them appropriately ~ Nurture others because I want to, not because I have to ~ Choose what is right for me ~ Insist upon being paid fairly for what I do ~ Set limits and boundaries and stick by them ~ Say “yes” only when I really mean it ~ Have realistic expectations ~ Take risks and accept challenges ~ Be totally honest with myself ~ Correct erroneous beliefs and assumptions ~ Respect my vulnerabilities ~ Heal old and current wounds ~ Savor the mystery of Spirit ~ Wave goodbye to guilt ~ Plant “flower” not “weed” thoughts in my mind ~ Treat myself with respect and teach others to do the same ~ Fill my own cup first, then nourish others from the overflow ~ Own my own excellence ~ Plan for the future but live in the present ~ Value my intuition and wisdom ~ Know that I am loveable ~ Celebrate the differences between men and women ~ Develop healthy, supportive relationships ~ Make forgiveness a priority ~ ACCEPT MYSELF JUST AS I AM NOW ~~Author Unknown Hi Debbie! Good luck and best wishes for a smooth recovery! Blessed Be!

Prayers, hugs and blessings to you as you take this huge step in your journey. May all the negatives and difficulties that have brought you to this point melt away with the excess weight. May your surgery and recovery be swift, smooth and uneventful.

Hi Debbie, I'd say don't be nervous but, heck I was. Of course it was for nothing (except I burned a few more calories) because my surgery went just fine. I had soreness afterwards and frankly, my back hurt worse than my incision. For me, the week before surgery was worse than the week after. Remember to keep it positive. That includes keeping only positive people around because before surgery we are so sensitive to every comment people make. It will be just fine. I hope all your health and weight loss dreams come true,
